Just woke up from a much needed nap to discover a voicemail message from Social Service Agency #2, offering me a job. Crap. I mean, great. But crap. This is SO my second choice and I'm still waiting to hear from Dream Job. Do I take this offer and then quit if I get the other job?
I think I'll take a shower and think about this. Because when you have a difficult decision to make...you shower.

Call the other agency and tell them you have another offer, but they are your first choice, see what they say. Then based on their answer call the other place back and ask for terms, etc, perhaps try some negotiation, etc, to stall and hopefully the first choice will come back with an offer by then...

Yes, yes, ditto everything chichimama said. Depending on when Agency #2 actually needs you to start, you might have some time to play around with.
I, too, do some of my best thinking in the shower. You are now officially my favorite person.
i make all my important decisions in the shower, so definitely shower. and don't get out until you've made a decision, no matter how dry and prunish your skin gets. trust me, it'll work.
chichi and caitlin - thanks for the advice. i really can't call dream job again because when i spoke to her monday, she was on the edge of annoyed...and tonight i talked to a friend who interned there who said *not* to push her. but i will stall tomorrow and as long as i can. and pray that the 2nd interview is scheduled soon.
